There are many places you can visit in Bandung City, but nothing compares with Braga, which is located in the city center. When the night came, it became a great place to walk, with many beautiful lights adorning the buildings. In the 19th Century, while Indonesia still reigned under the Dutch, Braga became the most prestigious shopping center in the Dutch East Indies. Only wealthy people and the elite could visit this place at the time.
Although today, Braga is accessible to all classes of people, there are still old restaurants. For example, Braga Permai is still a favorite among foreign tourists and government officials. This high-class restaurant was established in 1918 as Maison Bogerijen. The rest of the street is filled with many restaurants with varying prices, from high to mid-range. Beside the restaurant, there is also a perfume shop and souvenir store there. The streets are beautiful and great for strolling around. Many photographers will offer their services, which is a great opportunity for them to profit and also for tourists who want to capture their moments when visiting Braga.
On the weekend, Braga becomes even more crowded with locals and tourists from other cities. It will be tough if you drive a car here because it’s hard to find a parking spot. If you drive a car, you could park in Braga City Walk, a plaza in Braga that provides an underground parking lot. But it’s preferable to use online taxis, so you don’t need to worry about finding a parking spot.
In conclusion, it’s a great place to visit in Bandung City. I would say Braga is ‘Little Europe’ because of the city's vibe that left much of the history of Bandung.
